D. R. Tibbits writer & director
A Midwesterner through and through, D. R. Tibbits (Darren Robert Tibbits) was born and raised in Michigan and now calls Minnesota his home. As an artist, he strives to tell absurdly plausible stories of mankind. Visceral stories that provoke and evoke beyond simple entertainment. His character development often breaks convention by using the wit of the modern, intelligent audience as a “fourth wall” of story evolution. His early short films have played to audience acclaim at festivals throughout North America. His first short, Invention (2006), is archived at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and his short scripts have won the Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition and placed as finalists in both the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards and BlueCat Screenplay Competition, including Pinebox.
